You Make Me SMILE. Despite The MILES.

i miss you. what i want, is so far away. i know you may be out of sight but you have definately not left my mind since i left LA. it's not easy. i'm getting that gut feeling right now just by writing this cause all i wanna do is be with you. they say absence makes the heart grow fonder, but i think i'm going insane! i miss watching movies with you, eating fruity pebbles, driving me crazy, going on food runs, teasing me, and giving me a hard time about everything. lol but we've made it 1/3rd of the way, and i know that when i get to see you again this distance will all be worth it in the end soo whether you think i am or i aint... i'm not giving up that easy. i'm learning that you don't have to see someone everyday to be in love. I've seen you almost everyday for the past 9 months, and so far it's been a straight month without seeing you. At first it was difficult, but day by day my maturity in handling a long distance relationship has grown and despite the miles simple phone calls and texts are able to carry me through this distance on a daily basis. i appreciate you staying up to wait for me just to talk on the phone every night.  the days i end work at 12 am you're up and willing to stay up to talk to me until it's 6am there. :) distance really tests how much trust and honestly two people can have for each other, because when one fails the whole relationship falls apart as well. before i go to bed every night the simplest thing like saying a prayer with you, holds me together. a man who is close to god, reflects how he acts and what he does. that is just one way i know what kind of man you are. from taking care of your sisters and your mom to spending alot of time with your family is just another smiple thing that shows me the kind of man i want to be with. it's crazy how much of a story we've already written together, but it also seems like everything is still brand new. everyday is so unpredictable, just like the day we met, hated each other, became good friends, and then one day became lovers. i don't know what will happen tomorrow... or the next... or a few years from now, but i know right at this moment whatver we have, whatever this is... i hope we see the future together.

The Little Things...

Everyday we take for granted the beauty of everything around us. We pass up the rising sun, the gentle breeze, the shining sun, the green trees, the blue skies, the ocean, the birds, the bees, a drizzle, the sunset, and even sometimes the simplest smile. God gave us these wonderful gifts as a simple gesture to relieve us from the stresses or the craziness of our lives. I myself sometimes overlook at what God has put in front of me and fall short in appreciating the many blessings he has surrounded me with on a daily basis.

I sometimes complain about the chirping of birds or the bright sun shining in my room early in the morning, but really God is just letting me know it's a new day that shouldn't be wasted in bed. Whenever it rains, I fuss for the sun to come out, but really God's just giving me the opportunity to relax and give me a break from doing too much. When you're frustrated and late to work or even in a traffic jam and all you want to do is complain, God only wants you to look at the your surroundings and notice the sky above and the green he has put around you. When I can't go in the ocean because of the rough water, God is only letting me know his power and to enjoy the sun on the sand. When I misplace something, God is only helping me open my eyes to other things that I haven't payed attention to our focused on in a while. God doesn't leave us in the dust. God gives us never ending opportunities to help us in our daily lives and with his gifts we are able to see and appreciate more of life.

A True Hero

A hero is someone who is admired and kept in the hearts of those who admire them. At the age of 17, Keaton Wong has become a true hero in everyone's hearts. Even if you didn't know him personally, his story is very touching. Every individual experiences a unique journey during their lifetime. For Keaton, his journey was shortlived but a very accomplishing one. A determined and motivated young man, Keaton was on a mission to successfully achieve certain goals before his life journey came to an end. Diagnosed with an aggressive form of nerve cancer, this strong willed young man didn't let anything stop him from doing what everyone else thought he couldn't do.

I myself witnessed him accomplish one of the last things on his checklist- high school graduation. His fellow classmates behind him and the audience in front of him rose to their feet as the frail and bald headed Keaton received his diploma. Watery eyes, chicken skin, and the sound of applaud filled the arena. He made it! 

Although Keaton passed away four days later this genuine and inspiring 17 year old made a commitment to his life's journey. He battled until the very end, while family and friends supported him along the way. He will forever remain in everyone's hearts as a true hero. KahealaniHonda.
